Ever wonder how movies get on the 'Net? Here's a fictional drama about a group of "sceners" that aquire, encode, and distribute movies. The format of the storytelling is interesting. The story is told by watching the computer screen, with a webcam shot of the character in the upper left corner, and the various emails and IRC conversations going on in real time. There are currently 8 episodes available, with the next episode due in June.

Big, Big news. I've spoken with my Sister!!! I found her number and connected the dots, and finally after a couple of weeks of false starts, I called her. It was awesome. I hope I can soon talk to my mother.
Adoption related blog entry here.
5/16/2005 - I just got off the phone with my nephew. Simply amazing.

Over the weekend I had the priviledge of visiting the Phoenix Area, in an effort to help with the buildout of some infrastructure for our newest facility, PHX1. Things didn't go as planned, but I did snap a few pix of the building.
First off, the Phoenix area is big:

Let's zoom in, and see a map from the airport, to the FC:
Here's a view of the FC itself:

The left side of the image is the west wall, the sunlit area is where the breakroom will be built, and the blue line on the ground is the pending T1 line, where later in this photo essay you'll see Dave seated at a table.
I of course, had no table, and sat on the floor leaning against the office area wall most of the day waiting for our login server to be delivered via UPS. Call me for the sordid details of how I eventually wrangled the server away from UPS...
After a long day, it was time to relax at the hotel. Around 10pm I finally was able to eat dinner, and clean up. Is eating pizza in a jacuzzi tub really that decadent?
By the way, I highly recommend Z Pizza either in Phoenix or in Reno and Sparks. They are awesome!
After a brief night's sleep, it was time to go *back* to the FC and deliver the server from the trunk of my car, and place the drives I had hand carrried from RNO1 into the chassis. I fired up the server and waited, and waited. Viola! It was live!:
I had a temporary server room in the old "kitchen area":
Notice the lack of tables, chairs, etc...
Today, Dave is out there getting things situated. He has a desk. AND a chair. We're making progress...

July 4th is "Fry an egg on the sidewalk day". Don't believe me? Google it!

Detail's Here. Please tell everyone you know, the idea is that the event will be so huge and publicised that even thousands of years in the future, people will still know exactly when and where this time-traveler convention went down, and will all come travel to it at some point in their illustrious time-traveling careers.
