I know I am. This was almost (not quite, but almost) me as a kid... Neither I, nor my kids when in my care, will be dining @ MCD's any time soon... and on a lighter note: Peace out.
No jokes about "supersize" please...

Ellie & Louise: Did you know that you can lie with statistics? * 61 percent of Americans are overweight or obese. The definition of overweight used by the U.S. government was arbitrarily changed in 1998, following political pressure brought by the World Health Organization. The definition that we abandoned in 1998 had the virtue of distinguishing between men and women -- something our current definition does not do. And the 1998 redefinition re-classified 39 million Americans as "overweight." They literally went to sleep one night at a government-approved weight, and woke up "overweight." Here's some more stats for you: Country % Men % Women You seem to have a lot of anger. Maybe this will help: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1573229377/ And Eric, yes McDonald's doesn't make you fat. Poor diet and no exercise will make you fat. The Photo just exemplifies what's wrong with many facets modern culture. In this photo I see bad parents, a pop-culture lifestyle, and two really unhealthy, pitiful kids. It saddens me that kids like these are becoming the norm - and that parents are allowing it. Hell, people are suing fast food companies now because they don't want to take the responsibility of what they have done to themselves. Make no mistake, however. Fast food *is* highly addicting and unhealthy - its laden with fat, sugar and salt. It fits conveniently into an "accelerated" lifestyle. And accelerates illness. The marketing targets the sheeple and gets them to buy. But none of that absolves personal responsibility. I was just too tired to write all that in the original post....

McDonald's dosen't make you fat. McDonald's in excess makes you fat. If you eat it 2 times a day because you are too f*cking lazy to cook (or any fast food for that matter), you will become fat. Also, let's remember that as a whole Americans did not have a huge weight problem until we stopped drinking water and substituted it for Sugar-laidened Soda. Ciao, Eric

Lies too? You be the judge. http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/yourweight/whatis_stats.shtml
As far as my own story... my grandmother fed me with all my favorites foods one summer when I was five. She was an excellent cook, and made lots of pierogies, pies and cakes. All of which I ate with the fervor of any six year old... When I returned home that fall I had probably doubled my weight - my father didn't even recognize me after I got off the plane. I've been heavy ever since. But I take responsibility for that, and have lost over 40 lbs in the past year, and will keep on getting healthier - because I choose to accept responsibility for my own health. And Mcdonalds will not be a part of that - in any amount.
